Red River Gorge is not a bouldering destination. There are, however, a couple of good problems scattered throughout the gorge, so if you’re sick and tired of clipping bolts or plugging gear, go check out Dreams, a lone five star V3, or the Roadside Boulder.
Access varies depending on where the boulders are located. There are no known access issues for the problems documented in the climbing guide book.
Conditions at The Red are typically good from March to May and September up until December. Summers can be unbearably hot and humid.
Miguel’s Pizza has camping for $2 per person per day and Lago Linda’s is a slightly quieter setting with camping for $5 per person per day.
The Shell Service Station sells amazing Amish baked goods and Miguel’s has exceptional pizza. Groceries can be found in Slade.
Get a rope and go climb.
