The Glenwood Erratic is a large glacial erratic located about an hour and a half southwest of Lethbridge. The boulder is roughly the shape of a cube, about 18 feet high with a flat top and nice landings. The sides of the boulder are mostly vertical, so most of the problems are in the easy to moderate range. Access The boulder is located on private land, but the owners do not mind people visiting it. Please be respectful so that bouldering can continue here. Seasons Spring, summer and fall will offer the best conditions. Location The boulder is located about 40 minutes south of Fort MacLeod. From Highway 3 take AB-810 South for 34.4 km (21.4 mi). Turn left onto Township Road 55, drive for 3.2 km (2.0 mi), then turn right onto Range Road 264. Park on the side of the road after 0.8 km (0.5 mi). The boulder is visible from the road in the field to the east. Approach Walk down the lane for about 500 feet to the boulder. |
